[size=14px]金湖是金溪新湖的简称，位于武夷山脉南端泰宁县境内。金溪是闽江上游富屯溪的一大支流，因河床沙里含金沙而得名。1980年，装机容量10万千瓦的池潭水电站建成投产，而高78米，长253米的电站大坝则将金溪拦腰截断， 在上游形成了一个全长60余公里、湖面5万多亩、库容8.7亿立方米的人工湖。金湖是目前福建最大的人工湖。[/size]
