牛津聖安東尼學院 St Antonys College

St Antonys College is the most international of the seven graduate colleges of the University of Oxford, specialising in international relations, economics, politics and history of particular parts of the world.

台灣有名的牛津人~台中市長胡志強先生~即是從聖安東尼學院畢業的。他在一次訪問中描述:

進入牛津大學，我幸運地成為國際關係理論界古典學派大師蒲恆力教授的門生。而這才只是辛苦的開頭。牛津的學制第一年是「試讀生」，次年是碩士班，通過後才得以進入博士班。在牛津念書和台灣完全不一樣，指導教授兩、三個月才見一次面，指導幾句後就靠你自己去找書讀，找資料和思考，找一切相關乃至不相關的東西，來支持論文的研究與寫作……。牛津研究的日子，是非常孤獨的，我常覺得自己在一個黑暗的屋子裡，一點光都沒有。我在裡面摸索，找門、找窗、找任何一道可以開啟的道路，可是我摸不著、找不到門窗在那裡……。

薛爾登劇院 Sheldonian Theatre

The above view of the Sheldonian Theatre actually only shows its rear, and it has been described as sticking out into Broad Street like the stern of a ship. Its main entrance faces the other way towards important university buildings (primarily Convocation House) to the south. The picture below published in the Illustrated London News in 1845 shows its front.

拉德克里夫圖書館 The Radcliffe Camera

This library was named after the physician Dr. John Radcliff who left 40,000 toward the building and its endowment (though the building wasnt begun until 23 years after his death in 1714). Although Hawksmoor did a number of designs for the building--as a circular domed space, his death in 1736 opened the way for Gibbs, who was persuaded to give up his rectangular plan and to adopt Hawksmoors plan. The Library is upstairs--a circular domed reading room surrounded by an arcade. The bookcases are in the outer ambulatory behind the arcade.

在一片湛藍的天空映照下的拉德克里圖書館,是遊客佇足最久的地方,因為後方的景色美到像是明信片上的風景照,許多人拍到捨不得離開呢!

萬靈學院 All Souls College

The College of All Souls of the Faithful Departed, of Oxford, was founded by Henry VI and Henry Chichele (fellow of New College and Archbishop of Canterbury), on 20 May 1438. The Statutes provided for the Warden and forty fellows - all to take Holy Orders; twenty-four to study arts, philosophy and theology; and sixteen to study civil or canon law. Today the College is primarily an academic research institution at the University of Oxford, having strong ties to the public domain. Traditionally, there are no undergraduate members.

由摩頓學院走到市中心，在高街往東北方看，就可以看到一棟古色古香的建築物，就是萬靈學院。該學院創立於1438年，校園和庭園都保存著建校之初的景象，是牛津眾多大學城中，唯一沒有大學生的學院，該學院只有研究生。

漫步在牛津大學各學院中，除了感受到濃厚的文化氣息外，來到牛津的學子能夠在一片廣大的後花園中，席地而坐和同學拿著書本討論課業，感覺上是一種很特別的學習方式。每個學院中美麗的花園也是牛津吸引人的地方吧!
